Leesburg View of Sugar Loaf “Mountain”

Sometimes, when I’m at a real estate photoshoot, I take a couple of shots just for myself. Once, I had a run in with a horse, where he literally bumped my camera with his nose while I was taking his portrait during a real estate shoot on a farm. His breath fogged a portion of the lens as I hit the shutter and he curiously looked at me as I reached up to gently pat his nose. I hung that horse portrait in my home for years.

This image is one of those special moments. I was alone, at the top of the hill, enjoying the solitude after the non-stop movement all day. The crisp air getting colder every minute as the sun dropped further in the sky, throwing harsh golden side light over everything. That white spot on the mountain is a look out point with a great view. I believe my parents got engaged there.

Such a fun way to end the day.
